Kashmir Education Director Pledges to Resolve Teacher Transfers Ahead of New Academic Year

Srinagar, February 9, 2025: The Director of School Education in Kashmir has vowed to address the persistent issue of teacher transfers, particularly for educators who have remained in the same location for 10 to 15 years without relocation.

Speaking to the media, the Director highlighted that the annual transfer portal is now active, and a new policy has been introduced to streamline the process. Under this policy, teachers can check their tenure and submit transfer requests based on their eligibility within designated zones. The Director expressed confidence that a resolution would be reached soon.

He emphasized that the goal is to finalize all transfers before the new academic session begins to prevent any disruptions to educational activities. “We are dedicated to ensuring the academic year proceeds smoothly without interruptions,” he stated.

The Director also noted that special provisions are in place for teachers facing medical or security challenges, ensuring their cases are handled with appropriate care.

Assuring a fair and efficient process, the Director reiterated the commitment to timely decision-making, aiming to create a seamless academic environment for both teachers and students.
