Shawwal Crescent Sighted, Eid Al-Fitr to be Celebrated Tomorrow in J&K

SRINAGAR: The Shawwal moon was sighted across Kashmir on Saturday evening, confirming that Eid Al-Fitr will be celebrated throughout Jammu and Kashmir tomorrow.

Many people shared images of the crescent on social media, capturing views from different parts of the valley.

Eid Al-Fitr, a significant Islamic festival, is marked by special prayers, feasting, and charitable acts. Grand Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam confirmed the moon sighting, stating that sufficient testimonies were received from across J&K, signaling the conclusion of Ramadan.

In Srinagar, markets witnessed a rush of last-minute shoppers as families prepared for the festivities by purchasing sweets, clothes, and gifts. Bakeries and confectionery shops remained crowded.

Meanwhile, the Waqf Board announced that the largest Eid prayer gathering will take place at Dargah Hazratbal. However, no prayers will be held at Eidgah, Srinagar, due to ongoing construction work.
