IUST Announces CUET-UG 2025 as Mandatory for Undergraduate Admissions


  

The Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST), Awantipora, has officially announced that the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) 2025 will be the primary gateway for admissions to its undergraduate programs for the academic session 2025-26. This move aligns with the national trend of centralizing university admissions through CUET-UG, ensuring a fair and transparent selection process.  


Key Highlights of the Announcement:


1. Programs Offered: 

   IUST offers a wide range of undergraduate programs, including B.Tech in Food Technology, B.A. in Journalism & Mass Communication, B.Sc. in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, and more.  


2. CUET-UG 2025 Test Papers:

   - B.Tech in Food Technology: Students must appear for Biology/Biotechnology (Code: 304) and Mathematics/Applied Mathematics (Code: 319). 

   - B.A. in Journalism & Mass Communication: Students need to take Mass Media/Mass Communication (Code: 318) and General Aptitude Test (Code: 501).  

   - Other programs like B.Sc. in Chemistry, Physics, and Data Science have specific subject requirements as per CUET-UG guidelines.  


3. Application Process:

   - Online Submission: 1st March 2025 to 22nd March 2025.  

   - Fee Payment Deadline: 23rd March 2025.  

   - Exam Dates: Between 8th May and 1st June 2025 (tentative).  


4. Fee Structure

   - General Category: ₹1000 for up to 3 subjects, ₹400 for each additional subject.  

   - OBC-NCL/EWS: ₹900 for up to 3 subjects, ₹375 for each additional subject.  

   - SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender: ₹800 for up to 3 subjects, ₹350 for each additional subject.  


5. Exam Pattern:

   - Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT).  

   - Duration: 60 minutes per paper.  

   - Marking Scheme: +5 for correct answers, -1 for incorrect answers.

- 12th-grade students aspiring to join IUST must register for CUET-UG 2025 and choose the relevant test papers based on their desired program.  

- The university has emphasized that appearing for CUET-UG is mandatory  and students must also apply separately to IUST after the CUET results are declared.
