Srinagar: The Directorate of School Education Kashmir has issued a warning to schools, particularly private institutions, against conducting interviews for children seeking admission to pre-nursery, nursery, and LKG classes. This comes amid growing concerns from parents who view these interviews as unnecessary and stressful for both children and their families.
Speaking to Gulistan News TV, Dr. Tassaduq Hussain, Director of School Education Kashmir, emphasized that such practices violate the National Education Policy (NEP), which prohibits interviewing young children. He clarified that if any interviews occur, they should involve parents, not the children.
Dr. Hussain assured parents that the issue will be discussed in an upcoming meeting, after which clear guidelines will be issued to schools. Parents have urged the government to take swift action to ensure a fair and stress-free admission process for young students.
