Srinagar, Nov 10, 2024: In a significant update, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has announced revised age relaxation criteria for the upcoming Combined Competitive Examination (CCE)-2024, providing extended age limits for various categories of candidates.
According to the new notification (S.O 539) issued by the General Administration Department, the upper age limits have been increased as follows:
1. Open merit candidates can now apply up to 35 years (previously 32 years).
2. Reserved category and in-service candidates have an extended age limit of 37 years (previously 34 years).
3. Physically challenged candidates are now eligible up to 38 years (previously 35 years).
This change, signed by Commissioner/Secretary Sanjeev Verma under the directives of the Lieutenant Governor, aims to provide greater flexibility and opportunities for aspiring candidates, particularly those from reserved categories and individuals with disabilities.
The move reflects the government's commitment to ensuring inclusivity and broadening participation in public sector exams. It is expected to benefit a large number of candidates who were previously constrained by the lower age limits.
Relevant departments have been instructed to circulate the updated guidelines widely to inform potential candidates. Copies of the notification have been dispatched to key officials, including the Financial Commissioner, Director General of Police, and Chief Electoral Officer, to ensure swift implementation.
With these new age relaxation measures, the government hopes to attract a more diverse range of candidates to compete in the 2024 examinations, aligning with its objective of fair and inclusive recruitment.
