Territorial Army (TA) Recruitment Drive for 156 Infantry Battalion in Punjab and J&K Regions Announced


 

Advance Landing Ground, Surankote – The Territorial Army (TA) has announced a recruitment rally for the 156 Infantry Battalion (Home & Hearth) Punjab, scheduled to take place from November 8 to November 20, 2024, at the Advance Landing Ground in Surankote. This drive invites eligible candidates from various districts of Jammu & Kashmir to join as soldiers in various trades and clerical positions. The recruitment process includes document verification, medical assessments, physical tests, and written examinations.

Key Highlights of the Recruitment Drive:


Schedule and Location: The rally will be conducted over several days, with each day designated for candidates from specific regions across Jammu & Kashmir. Applicants are required to report for screening at 6:00 a.m. on the specified dates.


Available Positions: Openings include Soldiers in roles such as General Duty, Clerk, Chef, Washerman, and others. The 174 Engineer Regiment is also recruiting for Clerks and Tradesmen roles with a total of 94 vacancies in the UT of Jammu & Kashmir.


Eligibility Criteria:


Age: 18 to 42 years.


Educational Qualification: Varies based on the position, with a minimum requirement of Class 10 for general duty soldiers.


Physical Standards: Minimum height of 160 cm (157 cm for candidates from Ladakh), chest measurements, and weight standards as per Army regulations. Physical relaxation is available for certain categories.


Physical and Written Tests:


Physical Fitness Test: Candidates will undergo a 1-mile run, pull-ups, zigzag balance, and a 9-foot ditch jump.


Medical Inspection: Only medically fit candidates will be shortlisted for further procedures.


Written Examination: Conducted for those qualifying the physical and medical assessments, with bilingual questions in English and Hindi.



Important Points for Candidates:


This recruitment is purely voluntary with no promise of permanent employment or pension benefits.


The initial term is for seven years, extendable based on organizational needs.


Candidates will undergo mandatory training and may face disqualification if found unfit during this period.


Instructions: Applicants are cautioned against paying bribes, using unfair means, or engaging with touts, as strict action will be taken against those found violating the guidelines.
