Surankote, October 2024– The 156 Infantry Battalion (TA) [Home and Hearth] Punjab of the Territorial Army has scheduled a recruitment rally for clerks and tradesmen from the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. The rally will take place at Advance Landing Ground, Surankote, from November 8 to November 20, 2024. Eligible candidates can volunteer for various posts, including soldier clerks, general duty soldiers, chefs, and other tradesmen.
Area-Wise Recruitment Schedule:
Recruitment is organized according to specific dates and regions, starting from November 8, 2024, for candidates from different areas of J&K such as Akhnoor, Maira Mandrian, Poonch, and Surankote, among others. Screening and medical tests will be conducted at the rally site from 6:00 AM each day.

- Soldiers (General Duty)
- Soldiers (Clerks)
- Soldiers (Chefs, Housekeepers, Dressers)
- Specialized trades such as Masalchi, Washers, and Stewards.
Additionally, recruitment for the 174 Engineer Regiment is also scheduled for clerks and tradesmen from the UT of J&K.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Age: Candidates must be between 18 and 42 years of age.
- Education: A minimum qualification of Class 10th is required for general duty soldiers, with specific higher qualifications for clerks and other trades.
- Physical Standards: Height, weight, and chest requirements are stipulated, with some relaxation for specific categories like ex-servicemen and sports candidates.
Selection Process:
Candidates must undergo a physical fitness test, medical examination, and a written test. The written exam will be bilingual (English and Hindi), and shortlisted candidates will proceed to the screening and aptitude tests.
Documents Required:
Applicants must provide documents, including educational certificates, domicile certificates, character certificates, and up to 20 passport-sized photographs.
