In a recent directive from the Directorate of Samagra Shiksha, Jammu & Kashmir, the government has announced the implementation of the APAAR (Automated Permanent Academic Achievement Record) ID for all students across primary, middle, secondary, and senior secondary levels. This initiative aims to provide a unique, lifelong 12-digit identifier for every student, facilitating improved student tracking and targeted interventions to enhance enrollment and learning outcomes across all schools in the region.
Initially, the APAAR ID creation process was limited to secondary and senior secondary students, but the program has now been expanded to include all classes to ensure a comprehensive record system. This move aligns with the Ministry of Education’s vision to streamline the academic records of students, supporting better administrative management across schools in Jammu & Kashmir UT.
The directive also includes a detailed Standard Operating Procedure (SoP) for district, zonal, and school-level officials to facilitate the implementation. Key steps include conducting structured Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs), ensuring data entry accuracy, and addressing issues related to Aadhaar linkage and documentation.
Mr. Neel Kumar Bhat, Coordinator MIS, emphasized the importance of this initiative, calling on district and zonal officers to ensure complete adherence to APAAR ID creation requirements.
