Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), Rajouri, has issued a notification inviting online applications from Scheduled Tribe (ST) students under the Central Sector Scheme National Fellowship & Scholarship for Higher Education of Scheduled Tribe Students for the academic year 2024-25. The initiative, funded by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, aims to provide financial assistance to ST students pursuing M.Phil or Ph.D. degrees.
Eligibility Criteria and Application Process
ST students who have completed their Post-Graduation/Master's degree and are now pursuing M.Phil or Ph.D. can apply for the National Fellowship Scheme. The university requires applicants to submit a duly authenticated online application form from the concerned Deans, Directors, or Heads of the Department. Other mandatory documents include a passport-sized photograph, ST certificate, domicile certificate, academic certificates, and an admission or joining certificate from the concerned university.
For the National Scholarship Scheme, which provides 100% funding to ST students in notified courses and institutions, additional documents such as a bonafide certificate, fee receipt, and bank account details are required.
Important Dates
Students are urged to submit their applications by 30th September 2024, with the final selection list to be posted by 10th October 2024. There is no income criterion for eligibility, but the age limit is set at a maximum of 36 years as of 1st July of the relevant year.
