The Government of Jammu & Kashmir, Revenue Department, has issued a notice regarding the postponement of the holiday on account of Urs Sheikh Noor-Ud-Din Noorani (RA). According to the circular dated September 27, 2024, the Urs, originally scheduled for Monday, September 30, 2024, has been postponed.
The decision was made following the recommendation from the CEO of the J&K Waqf Board, who cited that the Urs, falling on the 26th of Rabi-us-Sani, is likely to be observed in the last week of October 2024, subject to the appearance of the moon. The fresh date for the holiday will be announced once a final recommendation is received from the CEO of the Waqf Board.
The Commissioner Secretary to the Government, General Administration Department, has been requested to consider this postponement, and further instructions will be communicated accordingly.
This update serves to inform the public and relevant authorities to adjust their schedules in accordance with the revised holiday date for Urs Sheikh Noor-Ud-Din Noorani (RA).
