CEOs, Cluster Heads, and ZEOs Lose Transfer and Deployment Powers |
The School Education Department has centralised transfer and deputation powers, removing the authority previously held by Chief Education Officers (CEOs), Cluster Heads, and Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs).
According to the Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Principal Secretary of the School Education Department, Alok Kumar, issued an order citing a partial modification of earlier related orders.
It is ordered that the powers of rationalization delegated to Principals and Cluster Heads are hereby withdrawn with immediate effect and shall now be exercised by the Joint Directors, with prior approval from the respective directors," the order stated.
Kumar also directed that Chief Education Officers and Zonal Education Officers will no longer be allowed to make decisions on rationalization, internal arrangements, or the deployment or attachment of teaching and non-teaching staff.
Any deviation from this order will result in strict legal action against the responsible officers," Kumar warned.
Previously, CEOs had the authority to transfer and deploy district cadre employees within the department—(KNO).
