Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas Open Admission for Class VI for the Academic Session 2025-26


Kupwara: The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has announced the opening of online applications for admission to Class VI in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) for the academic session 2025-26. The application process is now live, with the last date to apply being September 16, 2024.


General Salient Features of JNVs:

- Co-educational Residential Schools: Every district hosts a JNV, providing high-quality residential education.

- Separate Hostels for Boys and Girls: To ensure a comfortable living environment for all students.

- Free Education: All JNVs provide free education, along with board and lodging, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder access to quality education.

- Migration Scheme: A wide cultural exchange program that promotes national integration.

- Sports and Games: A strong focus on physical education, with opportunities for students to excel in various sports.

- NCC, Scouts & Guides, NSS:Programs that encourage discipline, leadership, and community service.


Special Features:

JNVs place a strong emphasis on quality education, leading to outstanding academic achievements, including:

- JEE Main 2024: 4,352 students (36.9% of those who appeared) were qualified.

- JEE Advanced 2023: 1,282 students (32.5% of those who qualified for JEE Main).

- NEET 2024: 19,183 students (81% of those who appeared) were qualified.

- Board Results: Class X – 99.09%, Class XII – 98.90%.


Eligibility:

- Residential Requirement: Applicants must be bona fide residents of the district where they seek admission and should be studying in Class V during the academic session 2024-25 in a government or government-recognized school.

- Academic Requirement: The applicant should have studied and passed classes III and IV in the same school.

- Age Criteria: The candidate should be born between **May 1, 2013, and July 31, 2015**.



Reservation:

- Rural Areas: At least 75% of the seats in a district are reserved for candidates from rural areas.

- Special Categories: Reservations are also provided for SC, ST, OBC, and Divyang candidates as per government norms. Additionally, a minimum of one-third of the seats are reserved for girl students.


Examination Dates:

- Summer Bound JNVs:January 18, 2025

- Winter Bound JNVs:April 12, 2025
