The Education Department has announced that there will be no extension of the summer vacation in Kashmir. All schools across the region are set to reopen tomorrow, July 18, 2024, after the scheduled break.
Directorate of School Education Kashmir, Tasaduq Hussain, made it clear in a live session on Rifat Abdullah's Facebook page that there will be no extension of the summer vacation.
This decision comes despite requests from several quarters for an extended vacation due to the ongoing heatwave. Earlier, a 10-day summer vacation had been declared early, extending until July 17, 2024. The authorities, however, have confirmed that necessary measures are in place to ensure a conducive learning environment for students. Schools are advised to follow the guidelines to mitigate the effects of the heat.
