PMSSS,Special Scholarship Scheme for J&K and Ladakh Opens for 2024-25 Admissions Under PM-USP

– The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has announced the Special Scholarship Scheme for students from the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh for the academic year 2024-25 under the Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Protsahan (PM-USP) Yojana. The scheme aims to provide financial aid to deserving students to pursue undergraduate studies.This scheme, formerly known as the Prime Minister's Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS), aims to support students from the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.

Key Dates and Schedule:

1. Online Registration:June 18 to July 22, 2024 (portal closes at 5:00 PM).

2. Document Verification:June 21 to July 24, 2024 (portal closes at 5:00 PM).

3.Correction Window: July 25 to July 26, 2024 (until 5:00 PM).

4. Final Merit List Announcement: July 29, 2024 (at 5:00 PM).

5. Choice Filling:July 22 to August 2, 2024 (portal closes at 5:00 PM).

6. Seat Allotment Result (Round 1): August 9, 2024.

7. Confirmation Period:August 9 to August 12, 2024.

8. Seat Cancellation Deadline: August 13, 2024.

9. College Joining: August 20, 2024.

Eligibility Requirements:

- Domicile: Students must be domiciles of J&K and Ladakh.

- Education: Must have passed the 12th examination from JKBOSE or CBSE-affiliated schools in these UTs.

- Family Income: Annual income should be Rs. 8 lakh or less.

- Lateral Entry:Diploma holders from recognized polytechnics can apply for lateral entry into engineering courses.

Exclusions:Students in open universities, those using management quotas, availing other scholarships, pursuing diplomas or postgraduate courses, or having family incomes above Rs. 8 lakh are not eligible.

Registration Process: Applicants must upload documents such as photographs, domicile and income certificates, educational records, and more through the AICTE portal.

Students can check their merit status and seat allotment on the AICTE website and participate in online counseling accordingly. The final joining in colleges is scheduled for August 20, 2024.
