Indian Air Force Announces AFCAT 02/2024: 304 Vacancies Open for Commissioned Officers in Flying and Ground Duty Branches!


 

The Indian Air Force has recently released the notification for the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) 02/2024, inviting both men and women from Indian citizens to join as commissioned officers in the Flying and Ground Duty branches. Here are the key details:


- Total Vacancies: There are 304 posts available.

- Branches:

    - Flying Branch: This branch offers exciting opportunities for aspiring pilots. Candidates can train to become Fighter Pilots, Helicopter Pilots, or Transport Pilots. A total of 18 vacancies are available for men and 11 for women.

    - Gound Duty (Technical) Branch: Officers in this branch are responsible for ensuring the airworthiness of the Indian Air Force. They manage sophisticated equipment and systems. There are 124 vacancies for men and 32 for women.

    - Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branch: This branch handles human and material resources, playing a crucial role in steering the Indian Air Force. There are 95 vacancies for men and 24 for women.

    - NCC Special Entry: Flying branch seats are reserved for NCC cadets, constituting 10% of the total seats.

- Important Dates:

    - Starting Date to Apply Online: 30th May 2024 (11:00 AM)

    - Closing Date to Apply Online: 28th June 2024 (11:00 PM)

- Age Limit (as of 1st July 2025):

    - For Flying Branch through AFCAT and NCC Special Entry:

        - Minimum Age: 20 years

        - Maximum Age: 24 years

        - Candidates born between 2nd July 1999 and 1st July 2005 (both dates inclusive) are eligible.

    - For Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branch:

        - Minimum Age: 20 years

        - Maximum Age: 26 years

        - Candidates born between 2nd July 1999 and 1st July 2005 (both dates inclusive) can apply.

- Qualification:

    - Candidates should have:

        - Passed with a minimum of 50% marks each in Maths and Physics at the 10+2 level.

        - Graduation (any discipline) or BE/B Tech degree.

        - Cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India in relevant engineering disciplines.

        - Degree or PG degree in relevant subjects.
