Teachers Struggle as Bonafide Certificates Delay; Urgent Extension Sought for Case Submissions

Teachers, granted a one-time exemption, are awaiting bonafide certificates, causing concerns about meeting case submission deadlines. They advocate for separate counters at Kashmir University and an extension of the submission deadline..

Concerns raised by Teachers across Kashmir highlight the challenges stemming from delayed certification, mandatory for case submissions following a one-time exemption.

The delay in receiving bonafide certificates, stipulated for case submissions, has left many teachers grappling with uncertainty.

Under Government Order No. 188-JK(Edu) of 2024, issued on 15-03-2024, a one-time exemption was granted to teaching and non-teaching staff of the School Education Department acquiring higher qualifications Distance /Online mode during service.

Despite the approaching deadline of May 15, 2024, for case submissions, delays in acquiring mandatory bonafide certificates persist, particularly in some districts and zones.

Teachers express frustration over administrative delays, with some facing imminent deadlines without the necessary documentation.

A teacher from Khag, Budgam, informed KNO that the final date for submissions in the Khag Zone is May 5th. However, they haven't received their bonafide certificates yet. This delay means teachers must allocate 3-4 days to complete the certificate process, causing disruption to student learning. Another teacher expressed the same concern, stating they're unable to submit their cases due to the ongoing wait for bonafide certificates from Kashmir University.

Proposals for separate counters at the University of Kashmir have been put forth to streamline the certification process and alleviate the burden on teachers.

Calls for an extension of the case submission deadline echo among teachers, emphasizing the need for timely Administrative support.

Dr. Naseer Iqbal, Registrar at the University of Kashmir, acknowledges the challenges, pledging efforts to expedite the certification process amidst administrative complexities.
