The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released notification for the recruitment of Assistant Commandants in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF). The examination is scheduled to be held on August 4th, 2024, subject to change at the Commission's discretion.
Vacancy Breakdown:
- Border Security Force (BSF): 186 positions
- Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF): 120 positions
- Central Industrial Security Force (CISF): 100 positions
- Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP): 58 positions
- Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB): 42 positions
Eligibility Criteria:
- Nationality: Only Indian citizens, or with written consent from the Central Government, are eligible. Nepali and Bhutanese citizens can also apply.
- Gender: Both male and female candidates are eligible.
Minimum Educational Qualifications: A candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree of a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification.
Age Limits:
- Candidates must be between 20 to 25 years old as of August 1st, 2024.
- Relaxations:
- Up to five years for Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes.
- Up to three years for candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes eligible for reservation.
- Up to five years for Civilian Central Government Servants and Ex-Servicemen, with a total relaxation limit of five years.
