The Shawwal moon was not observed in Saudi Arabia; thus, fasting will continue on Tuesday, with Eid Al Fitr celebrations commencing on Wednesday.



The Shawwal Crescent Moon was not visible in Saudi Arabia on Monday, April 8; therefore, the festivities of Eid Al Fitr are set for Wednesday, April 10th, 2024. In contrast, the Islamic Affairs Ministry of Morocco has scheduled their moon sighting for Eid Al Fitr on Tuesday. Eid al-Fitr signifies the culmination of Ramadan, the fasting month in the Islamic calendar, and is celebrated with joyful reunions and feasting among family and friends.


While the moon sighting in India is planned for April 10, the final verdict might shift the celebration to April 11. The date of Eid al-Fitr is contingent on the first day of Shawwal, which is confirmed with the sighting of the crescent moon. Notably, Kerala is the sole state in India that aligns its Eid al-Fitr observance with the moon sighting in Saudi Arabia.

Ramadan is expected to get over on either Monday, April 08 or Tuesday, April 09, 2024 with a treat for sky gazers and celestial body lovers since the new moon occurring on April 08 will be seen with a total solar eclipse in specific locations on Earth.
