The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) has issued a notification inviting online applications for admission to the General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) and Auxiliary Nursing and Midwifery (ANM) courses for the academic session 2024. Here are the important details:
1. Application Dates:
- Receipt of online application forms begins on 22nd April 2024.
- The last date for filling online application forms is 6th May 2024 (Midnight).
2. Application Fee:
- Candidates need to pay an application fee of Rs. 1000/- (Rupees One Thousand only).
- Payment can be made online through National Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking.
3. Eligibility Criteria:
A. GNM Course:
- Candidates must:
- Be a domicile of UT of J&K/UT of Ladakh (For candidates from Ladakh, the ST certificate issued by the competent authority of Ladakh serves as the domicile certificate).
- Be 17 years old (minimum age) and not more than 35 years old as of **31st December 2024.
- Have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board with Science/Arts and English.
- For open merit candidates, a minimum aggregate of 40% marks is required, while reserved category candidates need 35% marks.
- Candidates who have passed 10+2 with English (with 40% marks) in the Vocational ANM course from recognized schools or vocational streams in Health Care Science (recognized by INC/CBSE) are also eligible.
- Be a Registered ANM with pass marks.
- Be medically fit.
B. ANM Course:
- Candidates must:
- Fulfill the domicile criteria as mentioned above.
- Be 17 years old (minimum age) and not more than 35 years old as of 31st December 2024.
- Have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board with Science/Arts and English, securing a minimum of 40% marks in aggregate.
- Be medically fit.
- Candidates who have qualified in the 10+2 Arts or Science examination conducted by the National Institute of Open School can also apply.
4. Common Entrance Test:
- The date of the Common Entrance Test will be notified separately.
- The syllabus for the examination is available in the e-information brochure.
5. Examination Details:
- The examination will be conducted in one sitting with a duration of two hours.
- The paper will contain 120 questions from different sections.

Note - I: Eligibility Criteria and Required Documents for GNM & ANM Courses Admission
The eligibility criteria mentioned earlier are bare minimum/provisional and are subject to changes or benchmarks set by the concerned authority or university. The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) will notify any such changes, which will then govern the eligibility criteria.
Original Documents Required for Admission:
Candidates admitted to the GNM and ANM courses must submit the following original documents at the time of admission:
1. Marks Certificate of the Qualifying Examinations:
- Candidates should provide their 12th class marks certificate as proof of qualification.
2. Date of Birth Certificate:
- The date of birth (Matriculation/Secondary School Certificate) from a recognized board is required.
3. Domicile Certificate:
- Candidates belonging to the UT of J&K must submit their domicile certificate.
- For candidates from the UT of Ladakh the ST certificate issued by the competent authority of Ladakh serves as the domicile certificate.
4. Category Certificate (if applicable):
- Candidates falling under specific categories should provide relevant category certificates.
5. Other Required Documents:
- Any additional documents requested by the institution must also be submitted.
Roll No Slip/Admit Card:
- The notification for downloading online electronic admit cards will be issued separately.

Examination Venue:
- If a Common Entrance Examination is conducted, it will be held offline at Jammu/Srinagar centers as decided by the Board.
