In a significant move, the Veterinary Council of India (VCI) has issued a public notice to Vice-Chancellors and Registrars of all Agricultural/Veterinary Universities and Universities having Faculties of Veterinary Sciences,regarding the utilization of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for the academic session 2024-25. The NEET (UG) 2024 will be utilized to fill up 15% of seats under the All India Quota for the Bachelor of Veterinary Science (B.V.Sc.) and Animal Husbandry (A.H.) degree courses.
According to the notification, the VCI will consider the NEET (UG) 2024 merit list for admissions to B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree courses during the academic years 2024-28. This move aims to standardize the admission process and ensure transparency in the selection of candidates.
The selection criteria for admission to B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree courses will adhere to the Veterinary Council of India - Minimum Standards of Veterinary Education - Degree Course (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) Regulations, 2016. Students aspiring to pursue B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree courses under the All India Quota are advised to appear for the NEET (UG) 2024 examination, which is scheduled to be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on May 5, 2024.
This public notice serves as a reminder to all concerned parties, including Vice-Chancellors and Registrars of Agricultural/Veterinary Universities, to ensure that eligible candidates are aware of the NEET (UG) 2024 examination and its implications for admission to B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree courses on an All India basis.
