Aadhaar Card updating date extended know Online and Offline Procedure step by step


Aadhaar cardholders are granted an extension date for updating their cards, as per the latest information from UIDAI. The new deadline is set for June 14, 2024. Previously, the government had announced a free update deadline of  March 14, 2024.

UIDAI's official social media account (formerly known as Twitter) announced, "The deadline for the free online document upload service has been extended to June 14, 2024, benefiting millions of Aadhaar users. This free service is accessible only via the myAadhaar portal. UIDAI encourages individuals to keep their documents updated on their Aadhaar."

The UIDAI website states that Aadhaar is a 12-digit unique number given to every Indian residents based on demographic and biometric data. It plays a important role in eliminating duplicate and fraudulent identities by linking each number to individual biometrics.

If your Aadhaar card has not been updated since issuance, it's important to do so now. UIDAI advises Indian residents to submit Proof of Identity and Proof of Address (PoI/PoA) to reaffirm their demographic information, enhancing service quality and authentication success rates.

Steps how to update your aadhar card Online

1. Login portal https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/ click on myAadhaar 

2. Log in using your Aadhaar number and the OTP sent to your registered mobile.

3. Check your identity and address details.

4. Confirm your details or select the correct identity document for proof.

5. Upload the chosen identity document (less than 2 MB; JPEG, PNG, or PDF format).

6. Select and upload the address document.

7. Provide your consent to complete the process.

Offline Aadhaar Update Method:

To update your Aadhaar details offline, locate the nearest Aadhaar center using the pin code at [Aadhaar Center Locator]https://bhuvan.nrsc.gov.in/aadhaar/Alternatively you can directly visit your known Aadhaar center or the closest CSC center.
